报告摘要:The Skyrme model is a low-energy effective theory for QCD in which nuclei are modelled by topological solitons, known as skyrmions. In this talk I will describe a new approach to calculating the nucleon-nucleon potential using skyrmions. This problem has a long history, and early efforts struggled to reproduce important features of the potential such as the spin-orbit interaction.
专家简介:Andy Royston is an Assistant Professor in University of Pennsylvania. He did his undergraduate work at the University of Cincinnati and received his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Chicago in 2010. He is a theoretical physicist with specialization in quantum field theory, string theory, and mathematical physics. Most of my current research involves solitons in one way or another.
